Garden refresh - Twickenham

Scope

The garden was tired and lacked any interest and it had an unusual mound in centre. We were asked to:

  • Create a family garden with space for football as well as horticulture

  • Ensure the garden contained plants for all year round interest

  • Screening was particularly important at the end of the garden due to a raised public footpath

Description of work

  • Rear Garden

    • Once we removed trees and erected a fence, we terraformed the garden, incorporating lots of high quality humus rich soil.

    • Our next task was to lay 110 sqm of sandstone and the electric and irrigation pipes

    • Whilst our garden landscaping team was busy laying sandstone paving we brought in 400 sqm of arena gold turf and planted 550 plants bulbs and trees of various sizes

    • We completed the job by planting large evergreen Trachelospermum (Chinese Jasmine) on a wire frame on the fence at rear to provide screening
